Pain, tenderness, hemorrhage, point tenderness

Reduction & surg. or stabilizing boot/ casting
Plantar Fasciitis- Eti
Young runners, most common cause of heel pain. Peak incidence at 40-60
Plantar Fasciitis- Sx
Insidious pain on plantar heel with first steps or prolonged standing. Diminishes with rest. Tenderness along anteromedial aspect of calcaneus
Plantar Fasciitis-Tx
6-18 months to correct. Activity modification, NSAIDs, heel support, stretching
Phalangeal Fracture- Eti
Crush or direct blow injury or stress fracture
Phalangeal Fracture- Sx
Tenderness over bony structures
Phalangeal Fracture- Tx
Buddy tape, reduction if needed.
Calcaneal Fracture -Eti
Fall or high velocity trauma- commonly assoc with spine fracture, bilateral
Calcaneal Fracture Sx
Severe heel pain, inability to bear weight. Possible ecchymosis & deformity.

Casting or surgery
Morton neuroma- Eti
Idiopathic inflammation of nerve ganglion in foot.
Morton neuroma- Sx
Pain in forefoot, pebble in shoe, sensation changes
