Q

How does cell signalling occur?

A

locally through neurotransmitters or longer distances through the release of hormones, cell-surface-receptors recognise these chemicals and communicate with effectors

Q

Explain a simple homeostatic system?

A

receptors detect when a level is too high or too low, info is communicated to effectors via either hormonal or nervous system, effectors respond to counteract the change bringing level back to normal. (negative feedback)
