When is Unified Command required? Pg.6/7
When there’s more than 1 agency w/incident jurisdiction or when incidents cross political jurisdictions, Unified Command is required.

What does the Incident Management Team consist of? Pg.11
It consist of the IC’s command staff- Liason, Safety, PIO. And the General Staff(operations, planning, logistics, Finance/administration).

Total responsibility for operations within a defined area. Example working fire on the 4th floor of a high rise. IC will place all units in that floor under direction/supervision of a Division Supervisor Face to face communication can be accomplished more effectively.

Resources assembled to perform a special function not necessarily within a single area such as a group to ventilate floors above the fire area.

Procedure For Transferring Command Pg.18
•Confirm that name of command reflects location of the incident (eg, Arlington Boulevard Command) •Assess a suitable location to set up incident command post. •Designated name of command should not change during an incident. •Clear view of incident -space for access and egress of other units consideration -command post should not hinder operations -command post may get blocked, if so look for other location that doesn’t hinder operations •If chief Officer can’t face to face transfer with initial IC, then transfer via radio and confirm location of units operating. Once done the Chief Officer should confirm transfer
