- Ext active fires in affected bld & surrounding debris 2. Protect exposures 3. Extinguish vehicle fires in vicinity of collapse 4. No active fire - stretch & charge 2 1/2” – 3 1/2” stretched/charged to nearest TL 5. Terrorist 2 1/2” between two apparatus or other substantial shielding
First engine ?
Water supply. 2 1/2” stretch 2 1/2” for entire site. Consider 3 1/2” for TL
Who ensures 3 1/2” stretched for 1 st TL ?
2nd eng. 1st considers
Who immediately begins process of controlling utilities?
2nd ladder
Victim removal leader will normally be filled by?

In pancake collapse survival depends on?
Presence of strong objects nearby to keep the weight of the entire load from landing on the victim.
Crush syndrome is fundamentally based on three criteria:
- Compromised local circulation 2. Involvement of muscle mass 3. Prolonged compression - usually 4-6 hours but possibly less then 1 hour

“V” ?
2’ in height - known or potential victim. An arrow may need to be added next to “V” pointing twd location of victim
A circle around “V” ?
Confirmed - either visually, vocally or hearing sounds
A line thru the “V” ?
Horizontal line thru middle of “V” — victim deceased.
A vertical line thru “V”?
Victim removed. ** this marking should not be taken to mean the SECONDARY is NOT complete**
Wood frame building starting to slowly tilt or lean over to one side?
Lean over
Exterior wall breaks apart horizontally - top inward & bottom outward - what kind of wood bld collapses that way?
Wood braced frame. **Timber truss roof colllapse can cause secondary collapse of a front wall in this manner.
Floor beams pull loose or collapse at both ends?
Pancake
Interior partition or wall holds up center of the floor?
Tent floor collapse
Who can operate vacuum truck if area is too hazardous for Con-ed employees?
SOC members
