Q

implications

A

high DAS and failed = high BDI because ppls saw setbacks as personal failures that reinforced worthlessness and incompetence - they ruminated on the neg consequences of failure.
low DAS and failed = low BDI because ppls did not engage in the same negative thought patterns.

shows it is the nature of thinking rather than the outcome which leads to depressive symptoms.
