Movements possible at the joints
Flexion and extension
Adduction and abduction
Plantar flextion and Dorsi flextion
Circumduction and rotation
Flextion
Bending movement that decreases angle between body oarts
Extension
Straightening movement increases angle between body parts
Abduction
Movement of bone or limp away from midline of the joint
Adduction
Movement of bone or limp towards midline of the joint
Plantar flexion
Movement at the ankle joint that points toes downward
Dorsi flextion
Movement at the ankle joint that points toes upwards
Rotation
Rotational movement around joint or axis
Circumduction
Combination of flexion, extension, abduction and Adduction in a circular movement
