What is the problem of evil?
Christians can question why evil and suffering still exist in the world if God is all-powerful, all-loving and all-knowing.
Name 2 explanations for the problem of evil.

- Experiencing bad things could be a test of faith : the book of job.
- Humans need evil to appreciate good.
- God is beyond our understanding.

What are the two types of evil?
Natural evil & moral evil.
What is natural evil?
Caused by nature, such as natural disasters and disease.
What is moral evil?
Caused by human choices and actions, such as murder.
What is the Trinity?
Christian’s believe in one God, but they believe in three main personas.
What are the three parts of the Trinity?
The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
How do Christian’s respond to natural evil?
We do not always understand why God has acted in this way, but we must have faith and trust that God loves us and knows what is best. Suffering is a test and helps us to develop our character.
How do Christian’s respond to moral evil?
St Augustine argued that God gave humans free will. Moral evil is caused by humans turning away from God and making bad decisions. God loves us and wants us to stop sinning, but we have to decide this ourselves.
