Present
Today we’re going to focus on being fully present.
Being fully here in this moment.
Fully on your mat
Being present with your mind, body.
Checking in with yourself
Take this opportunity to check in with your body.
How does it feel today.
How are you moving.
Do you have any pain, tightness, tenderness.
Being very conscious of what your body is telling you throughout this practice.
Informed choice
As we move through our practice today, make an informed choice in each of your poses.
Take in what your body is telling you.
Ignoring the machinations of the mind. Focusing away from the ego and toward your body. What does it need right here and now.
The ego
The ego is not you. Instead you can witness the story it is telling you about this pose.
Do you really want to live in endless variations of the same experience
You can choose the edge you want to reach for in this pose.
Softening and strengthening where you need.
Habits
Maybe you have taken a particular variation out of habit, or ego.
I invite you to choose whether the form works for you today. Is this the right edge to explore today.
Or maybe placing your knee down today to find a stronger, lateral or back bend.
Expecting less and exploring more
In my reading this week, the idea that keeps arising is the idea of lessening my expectations and exploring the moment more.
This is especially important on our yoga mat.
Letting go of expectations allows us to explore and allows a deeper truth to reveal itself.
