● severe dehydration (expect the s/sx of dhn)

● Fluid replacement (Hypotonic solution)
● Coconut water due to diarrhea
● Potassium rich foods
● ORESOL replacement
Cholera PATHOGENESIS
- V. cholerae passes the stomach acid barrier
- Penetrate the small intestine mucous
- Bacteria adhere to epithelial cells of the intestine
- V. cholerae express virulence factors cholera toxin
- CT effects on epithelial cells in intestine
- Diarrhea related to cholera
