T- can last hours

PPI makes better
Bending over or supine makes worse
Spicy foods worse
S - medium
What are the symptoms of costochondritis?
S: One sided chest pain normally localised
O: sudden
C: sharp chest pain
R: May radiate across chest

T: Caused by frequent coughing or repetitive movement
E:worse on movement and Palpation
What are the symptoms of pericarditis?
S: Central chest pain
O: Sudden
C: sharp pleuritic
R: May cause trap pain
A:
Peripheral oedema, JVD and Difficulty swallowing due to fluid
Low grade fever
SOB
T:
E: Improves when sitting up or sitting down
Worse when lying down
S:
History: History of chest infection
ECG: Concave ST elevation in all leads except and PR depression (larger Ratio of ST elevation to T wave in lead I is more likely benign early repolarisation which looks similar to pericarditis)
Auscultation: Pericardial rub (crunch of snow heard with the heartbeat)
What are the symptoms of pleurisy?
Sharp pleuritic chest pain
History of previous chest infection that spreads
Pleural rub (crunching on snow which can be heard when the patient breaths)
