What is MET?
one MET equals the amount of energy a person expends at rest. METS are multiples of resting activity. 2 METS would be twice the resting expenditure.
What is aerobic?
In the presence of oxygen (sustained exercise, jogging, swimming, rowing)
What is anaerobic?
The absence of oxygen (short duration, high intensity, etc.)
ACSM and CDC activity recommendation
150 minutes of moderate intensity activity each week for adults or 30min 5 days a week
Low fit person should start with what activity?
walk, yard work, golf
