Chapter 5A Flashcards
is the response involved in classical conditioning conscious or unconscious
unconscious and automatic
is classical conditioning a passive learning process
classical conditioning is a passive learning process
what is classical conditioning
is a simple form of involuntary learning, which occurs through the repeated associations of two different stimuli to produce a conditioned response.
what are the three phases of classical conditioning
before conditioning
during conditioning
after conditioning
what is involved in the first phase
no learning has taken place there is a UCS which produces a UCR.
there is also a NS no natural response
what is involved in the second phase
two stimuli are associated NS is usually presented and immediately followed by the UNS this step is repeated multiple times so that the NS and UCS become associated this is called acquisition
what is involved in the third phase
NS becomes the CS through repeated association in the last phase the NS triggers the same UCR as the UCS.
the UCR becomes the CR
