Commonsense was a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine. Arguments about independence from England and the creation of a democratic republic were made in the document

The Declaration of Independence was a document that officially announced the independence of the United States. Thomas Jefferson wrote it to explain why the United States should be a free nation

They forced the colonists to sell raw materials to Great Britain at low prices. Britain then used the raw materials to create finished products that they sold back to the colonist at high prices
