Noun formations to creat nouns or adjectives that are frequently masculine but may be neuter are:
derived by adding the suffix -a- to a root that is taken in gun.a or sometimes vr.ddhi
the suffixes added to verbal roots in gun.a for noun formation of nouns and adjectives are:
-ana- and -tra-
-ana- gives the English meaning of
“ing” meaning for nouns and adjectives
the gender of the noun formations used as nouns is
practically always neuter
-ana- formations used as adjectives are usually found
found as the final member of a compound.
muc “to release” gives the adjective
mocana “releasing, freeing” as in “her freeing philosophy came to her aid when she was stuck”

the neuter noun meaning (the act of) releasing or (the act of) release
vac “to speak” gives the noun and adjective formation
