- Kidneys
- Ureters
- Urinary Bladder
- Urethra
Where are the kidneys?
Between the dorsal body wall and parietal peritoneum
The renal artery…
Branches off of renal artery and then the abdominal aorta
The renal vein…
Drains blood from kidneys into inferior vena cava
What is the position of the kidneys?
Retroperitoneal
Wha is the retroperitoneal position?
The kidneys are tightly covered by the parietal peritoneum on their anterior surface
What is the function of the renal artery?
Branch off the abdominal aorta and supply oxygenated blood to the kidneys

The right kidney is slightly lower than the left (because of position of the liver)
What is the Renal hilum?
Es el punto del frijol
A medial indentation where several structures enter or exit the kidney (ureters, renal blood vessels, and nerves)
