What are the three main functions of the kidney?
i) Filter blood to eliminate nitrogenous metabolic wastes
ii) Reabsorb water and electrolytes to maintain volume and pH balance of blood
iii) Secrete urine
How do the ureters transport urine?
Peristalsis
Where is the bladder reflex?
Bladder reflex is found in zone 1, partially on the medial aspect of the foot, halfway between the waistline and the heel line, partially on the plantar aspect of the same location.
What reflexes would you work for kidney stones?
Urinary system: whole system
Immune & Lymphatic: lymph reflexes, spleen, thymus, appendix
Digestive: liver
Musculoskeletal: T10/11, spine
Endocrine: adrenal, pituitary, parathyroid
Nervous system: eyes, ears, solar plexus, hypothalamus
