Head, neck, & trunk
Cranial bones are made up of 8 bones:
Frontal, parietal (2), temporal (2), occipital, sphenoid, and ethmoid.
Facial Bones are made up of 14 bones:
Maxilla (2), mandible, zygomatic (cheeks-2), nasal (2), lacrimal (tear duct-2), palantine (2), inferior nasal conchae (2), and vomer.
The fetal skull has __ soft spots, referred to as fontanelles:

Hyoid Bone:
Bone above thyroid that does not attach to any other bones. But muscles attach to it. Helps tongue movement and swallowing.
There are 24 vertebrae. What are the divisions?
Cervical (7) Thoracic (12) Lumbar (5) \+sacrum \+ coccyx (tail bone)
Vertebrae:
Stacked in a way to give spine flexibility, strength and movement.
Sternum:
Dagger shaped, and its the middle of the chest. Zyphoid process is inferior.
What are the 3 parts of the sternum?
Manubrium (articulates with clavicle & 1st rib), body, and zyphoid. Next 9 ribs joined to its body (sternum) directly or indirectly via costal cartilage.
