The objectives of these goals are to
- End extreme poverty
- Fight inequality
- Tackle climate change.
Why they were developed
•
A new set of goals and targets were needed when the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), finished in 2015.
- Progress that was achieved through the MDGs was uneven across regions and countries, and significant work still needed to be done to improve health and well being globally.
- New global challenges had emerged that needed to be addressed such as increasing conflict and extremism, financial instability and Climate change.

Planet
Planet-protect the planet form degradation and climate change
Prosperity
Prosperity-ensure all people can expand in economic, social and technological ways.
Peace
Peace-create a peaceful, just and inclusive societies, free from fear and violence.
Partnership
Partnership-implement the SDGs through global partnership, focusing on the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable
