o If there is a reduction in the prevalence of communicable diseases then country can focus on the preventative measures by looking at the underlying cause of ill health to promote health.
o If there is a high prevalence in communicable diseases the focus should be on treating them to prevent mortality.
• The country can grow economically.
• Increase in income allows nation to compete with other nations.
