Rate of transport refers to what?
A
Number of molecules that cross the membrane in a given length of time. Also called flux.

What is the net movement?
A
When molecules are transported in and out, this is the net movement, however there are always movement in and out.

Concentration of the solute, membranes permeability and the molecules characteristics.
