Difficult or painful eating or swallowing. From stroke or infection.
Dysphagia (Odynophagia)
Decrease appetite because of disease or the gastrointestinal side effect of a drug.
Anorexia
Excessive overeating. Due to overactive thyroid gland, diabetes millitus, or psychiatric illness.
Polyphagia
Inflammation and cracking of lips and mouth corners due to infection, allergies, or nutritional deficiency.
Cheilitis
A stone that forms in the salivary gland and becomes lodged in the duct, blocking the flow of saliva. When the salivary gland contracts, the duct spasms, causing pain.
Sialolithiasis
Inflammation of oral mucosa. Can be caused by poorly fitting dentures.
Stomatitis
Canker sores, small ulcers of oral mucosa
Aphthous stomatitis
Stone in salivary duct
Sialolith
Indigestion
Dyspepsia
Swollen, protruding veins in the mucosa of the lower esophagus or stomach. They can rupture causing sudden death.
Varices
Acute or chronic inflammation of the stomach due to eating spicy foods, excess acid production, or a bacterial infection.
Gastritis
Acute inflammation or infection of stomach & intestines. Due to virus or bacterium.
Gastroenteritis
Chronic inflammation and irritation of esophagus due to reflux of stomach acid back into the esophagus.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
Temporary inflammation of esophagus due to reflux of stomach acid
Heartburn (Pyrosis)
Chronic inflammation of esophagus

Vomiting of new or old blood from bleeding in the stomach or esophagus. From ulcers or varices.
Hematemesis
Weakness in diaphragm, allowing esophagus or stomach to slide through and balloon into the thoracic cavity.

Chronic irritation, burning pain, and erosion of the mucosa to the point of forming an ulcer.
Peptic Ulcer Disease (PUD)
Cancerous tumor of stomach arising from glands in mucosa of stomach.
