-Social expectations about how one should act

- They restrain & control us
- Are also seen as arbitrary and confining

-They basically grease the social machinery= making things run smoother

-Powerful people tend to exploit others

-That one has to deal w/ matters according to specific circumstances

-Fate determines one’s success & failures

- as the 2 genders interact w/ their specified gender, the differences grow

- Females focus on personal relationships
