What does the Implicit Association Test (IAT) measure? & how does it measure what it’s supposed to measure?
- Implicit attitudes
- It uses reaction times to measure how quickly people associate concepts

-They are more conscious of their words & deeds

-They are favorable or unfavorable evaluative reactions towards something

What does the Cognitive-Dissonance Theory assume?
-That when we do something that is inconsistent, we are negatively aroused & to reduce this we will justify our actions to ourselves

-Us expressing attitudes so that we can appear as consistent

What is Insufficient Justification?
-The reduction of dissonance by internally justifying one’s behavior when external justification is not enough
What is overjustification?
- It results from bribing people do what they already like doing
- Therefore they see that their actions are externally controlled than being internally appealing
What is the relationship between Self-presentation theory and Cognitive Dissonance theory?
-They actually make the same predictions
What is Self-Affirmative theory?
-The justification of our actions & decisions
