Ch 11- Diagnose Errors Flashcards
what are individual constraints?
the person may not be able to perform movement corectly in order to get to end goal
ex: being too short to throw baketball, needs to overhand throw it instead
what are task constraints?
the person may not be capable of performing the task if not developed yet
ex: sensory motor neurons may not be developed yet to understand the task
what are environment constraints?
the person would need to adapt to the demands
ex: hitting from a tee - hitting from a pitch
what are comprehension errors?
occurs when the learner does not understand the requirements of the skill/what is expected
what is an error of perceptual response selection?
learner does not know what cues to look for in the environment, or focuses on the wrong cues
what is an error of decision making?
learner midjudges an object, or positions of opponents/teammates
what is a recall response selection error?
learner forgets movements/strategies
what is an error in neuromuscular coordination?
learner has not had enough practice time to establish the proper neuromuscular coordination
what is a speed-accuracy tradeoff error?
the learner does movement too fast, it may not be accurate, hindering execution
what is an error in telegraphing?
opponent is able to guess what event will occur and when
what is a visual error?
error can result from the visual demands of the sport exceeding what is physically possible
what is a proprioception error?
inaccurate sensory feedback stemming from musculoskeletal pain/injury = faulty error
