Venous Ulcers
A
- Very common, most commonly on medial malleolus
- Fibrinogen and a microglobulin are pushed into vessel wall and impair healing
- Leads to lipodermatosis: Fibrosis, inflammation, and induration
- Can become infected

Treatment of Venous Ulcers
A
- Elevate and aim ro restore circulation
- Never give steroids
- Don’t use systemic Abx unless there is systemic infection
- Watch out for contact allergy
- SCC at rolled borders
- DDX: Emobolism, PG, Paniculitis, Cutaneous Malignancy

- Get clotting and anti-Phospholipid studies, also cryos
