Cellular Respiration Flashcards
What two types of cellular respiration are there?
Aerobic and Anaerobic respiration.
Where does Aerobic respiration occur?
Happens in the cytoplasm and mitochondria of all living cells.
What is the product of Aerobic respiration?
Carbon dioxide and water and ATP.
What is the purpose of cellular respiration?
The purpose of respiration is to provide cells with energy.
What three stages occur to transform glucose into ATP?
Glycolysis, The Krebs cycle and Electron Transport Chain.
What is respiration?
Respiration is a chemical reaction, which turns glucose into energy (ATP).
What is Aerobic respiration?
Aerobic respiration is the cellular respiration process when oxygen is present.
What is Anaerobic respiration?
Anaerobic respiration is the cellular respiration process without the presence of oxygen.
What is the product of Anaerobic respiration?
Lactic acid.
When does Anaerobic respiration occur?
Anaerobic respiration occurs when there is not much oxygen present in the body, to make glucose and ultimately energy.
