What are the steps of the Cardiac cycle?
A
1) Blood enters both sides of the heart simultaneously.
2) Atria contract, pushing blood into the ventricles.
3) The ventricles contract, pushing the tri and bi cuspid valves shut (creating the dup sound)
4) The Pulmonary valves are forced open by the blood and as the ventricles relax and snap shut (creating the lub sound).

A
Systole is when the ventricles contract.

A
Diastole is when the ventricles relax and the atria fill up with blood.
