Cells to Organisms Flashcards
Understand how Cells become Organisms
What is a Zygote?
A zygote is a fertilized egg cell, when an egg and sperm meet. The Zygote has 46 chromosomes, 23 from each parent.
What are Diploid Cells?
A diploid cell refers to cells that have chromosomes that came from parents. I.E., how Zygote cells has 46 chromosomes, 23 from each parent.
What are Embryonic Cells?
As the Zygote goes through mitosis over and over, it is reffered to an Embryo, which are a group of Zygote Cells, called Embryonic Cells.
When does a Embryo become reffered to as a Blastula
The Embryo is reffered to as a Blastula after a hundred cells are produced
What are the three layers of the Blastula
The Ectoderm cells, which form the skin, nervous system, and parts of the face and neck.
The Mesoderm cells, which become muscles, blood, blood vessels, and the beginnings of bone and connective tissue.
The Endoderm cells, which create the respiratory and digestive tubes.
What are the four tissues in an animal cell.
The four tissues are Muscle Tissues, Connective Tissues, Nerve Tissues, and Epithelial Tissues.
