Why is there one line from CCW to the RCPs, and two lines coming out for the return from the RCPs?
So we can isolate the thermal barrier if it leaking from the RCS
Why do the CCW for the main steam penetrations not close on a Phase A?
Still have steam through it
If the CCW low pressure alarm comes in and the CCW pump motor instant trip alarm is standing and neither CCW pump is running can you start a CCW pump?
Yes, as long as the control switch is not taken to trip, which would reset the anti-pump circuit
If an individual load is isolated on the miscellaneous header of the CCW System (SFP Hx), is CCW still OPERABLE?
YES! as long as it can still do it’s safety related function.
The component isolated may be INOPERABLE
If an individual load is isolated on the CCW System (RHR Hx), is CCW still OPERABLE?
NO!
The RHR Hx is required for the safety function of the CCW system, to cool water from the recirc sump during the recirc phase. Without the RHR heat exchanger flow minimum flow for the CCW pumps may not be attainable during the injection phase.
What happens to The CCW Hx Outlet valves (CMO-410/420) on a Load Shed?
Gets an open signal on the blackout
