Building Regulations 2010 (Part L) - Energy efficiency and conservation requirements.
Environmental Protection Act 1990 - Controls pollution and waste management.
Climate Change Act 2008 - Sets targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012 - Energy performance certificates and building inspections.
Separately added: MEES stands for Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards. It’s a regulation introduced in England and Wales under the Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (England and Wales) Regulations 2015. MEES requires landlords to ensure that their properties meet minimum energy performance standards, typically an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of at least E, before they can be let out to tenants.
