C/P BP Diagnostic Flashcards
what is a sulfonyl group
s attached to 2 o db and an r group on each side of the s (4 substituents total)
what is a urea group
carbonyl w db o and an h2n on either side (3 substituents total)
how to find ph and poh
ph+ poh= 14. poh shld b above 7 for a soln of conc acid
what is surface tension in terms of a tendency
surface tension is a tendency of a liquid allowing it to resist an external force and decreases as temp rises- as ke increases, the mols will prob overcome imfs holding them tg
how to find work for fluid systems, such as blood thru the heart
work by system= pdeltav
competitive inhibitors effect of km and vmax
km- increased. vmax- unchanged
what do good nucs have
they r electron rich
meaning of acylation
In chemistry, acylation is the chemical reaction in which an acyl group is added to a compound. The compound providing the acyl group is called the acylating agent.
are carbonyl carbons ephilic or nphilic
ephilic.
out of esters and amides which is the worse lg
amides are. also amides are less reactive than esters.
basic composition of a fatty acid
fatty acids are long alkyl chains that terminate in a carboxylic acid group
in beta decay…
a neutron is converted to a proton and an electron is emitted. the daughter has an atomic number that increases by 1 as seen in the eq
are the terms lipophilic and hphobic the same
no not always
is the volume of ur lungs higher at higher alts
no, lung volume is indep of alt
why do u have trouble breathing high up
volume of lungs is not lower at higher alts. it is indep of alt, but the work needed to fill the lungs varies with alt. insp comes from increasing lung volume which creates a pressure grad- plungs<pambientair. if atm presure is lower, then the gradient isnt as great so less air enters the lungs with every breath. this can explain why the pt has a harder time breathing at higher alts than at sea level
