Q

what is surface tension in terms of a tendency

A

surface tension is a tendency of a liquid allowing it to resist an external force and decreases as temp rises- as ke increases, the mols will prob overcome imfs holding them tg

Q

why do u have trouble breathing high up

A

volume of lungs is not lower at higher alts. it is indep of alt, but the work needed to fill the lungs varies with alt. insp comes from increasing lung volume which creates a pressure grad- plungs<pambientair. if atm presure is lower, then the gradient isnt as great so less air enters the lungs with every breath. this can explain why the pt has a harder time breathing at higher alts than at sea level

Q

what does the formula for magnetic field strength say

A

magnetic field strength has a formula that is too hard to write over, but basically, it says field strength is proportional to current and inversely to radius. so inc radius means decreased strength at the center of the chamber.

17
Q

formula for magnetic field strength

A

B= muoI/2r
