Primary sector organisation
businesses that produce or extract raw materials. E.g. fishing, farming & mining.
Secondary sector organisation
A business that makes or manufactures goods. E.g. food manufacturers such as Heinz & car manufacturers such as BMW.
tertiary sector organisation
A business that provides services. E.g. estate agents, hairdressers & restaurants.
Private organisation
A private organization is any partnership, corporation, person, or agency that is not operated by a profit or a public body (not government owned).
Public organisation
A business that is owned by the government. They provide goods and services for the benefit of the community.
Third sector organisation
A business that is owned and run voluntarily by trustees. Not run to make profit but to help the community
Local market
A market in a specific geographic location where businesses sell goods and services to local consumers.
National market
A market that encompasses an entire country, where businesses sell goods and services to consumers across the country.
International/global market
A market that operates across multiple countries, where businesses sell goods and services to consumers in multiple countries.
National business
A business that operates in multiple regions within a country, serving only that country’s consumer base.
Multinational business
A business that operates in multiple businesses. Providing goods/services globally
