Type of shock
Hypovolemic shock because of the decrease in venous return , decrease cardiac output and decreased vascular resistance and can also lead to renal failure
Rule of nines
Adult legs is 18% each all around and peds is 13.5% each leg all around head for adults is 9% and for peds is 18%
Burn classification
Major burn
25% on partial thickness
10% on full thickness
Moderate burn
15-25% on partial thickness
Less than 10% on full thickness
And areas not involving face eyes ears hands feet or perineum
Minor burn
Less than 15%
Less than 2% full thickness
Fluid replacement formula
4ml /kg times amount of bsa
50% first 8 hours
25% in the next 8 hours
25% in the last 8 hours
Patient cooling
U till pain is relieved 15-30 minutes
Facial burns
He’d should be elevated atleast 30 degrees to minimize swelling unless spinal injury is present
Fluid
Up to two liters
