21
Q

Role of inhaler steroid

A

Increase sensitivity of adrenaline to bronchial smooth muscle = bronchodilation
Inhibit Ag-Ab reaction = suppression of inflammatory response
Inhibit of LT , PG, PAF synthesis = decrease bronchial hyper activity
Decrease capillary permeability = decrease bronchial oedema and congestion

22
Q

Benefits of inhaler steroid

A

Directly acts in the site of action
Rapidly relief of bronchial asthma
Less dose requirement
Less a/e
More patient compliance

23
Q

Disadvantage of inhaler salbutamol

A

Dryness of airway
Irritation if airway
Oropharyngeal candidiasis
Knowledge needed
Expensive

24
