Biopsych -> Localisation & Lateralisation Flashcards
Localisation of Function
Localisation of function refers to the principle that functions have specific locations within the brain. The hemispheres of the cerebrum mainly represent the opposite side of the body, this is known as contralateral organisation.
Weaknesses of localisation
Some functions are more localised than others

Strength of split brain research
Experiments on split-brain patients are highly controlled and scientific.
Weaknesses of split brain research
Small sample size
Difficult to generalise
&
Artificial
Lacks ecological validity
&
Difference in disconnection
