what is streamlining?
design or provide with a form that presents very little resistance to a flow of air or water, increasing speed and ease of movements.
what is aerofoil?
A structure with a flat lower surface and a curved upper surface designed to generate lift.
what is Bernoulli principles?
a fluid will exert less pressure the faster it travels and more pressure the slower it travels.
what is the magnus effect?
in principle it is the Bernoulli principles but it effects the flight path of a spinning ball.
How does the magnus effect, effect the flight path of a topspin shot?
High flight path with a sudden drop.
non-parabolic
How does the magnus effect, effect the flight path of a backspin shot?
causes the ball to ‘float’ during flight, which increases the horizontal distance covered.
How does the magnus effect, effect the flight path of a slidespin shot?
causes the ball to swerve left for hook and right for slice.
