Q

What is the problem with artificial classification?

A

Eg. Just because animals have the same number of legs doesn’t mean they are the same

16
Q

How do humans reduce species diversity control agricultural ecosystems

A
  • Farmers select crops that are more productive so the frequency of alleles are reduced
  • Crops sprayed with pesticide and manmade fertiliser
17
Q

What’s the impact of deforestation?

A
  • Forests contain many varied and different habitats high in species diversity.
  • Permanent clearing of the forest leads to lots of habitats and in turn loss of biodiversity
18
Q

What does courtship behaviour enable animals to do?

A
  • Recognise members of their own species
  • identify a mate that is capable of breeding
  • form a pair bond
  • synchronise mating
  • become able to breed
