Why are schedules and legends used in drawings?
To unclutter the drawings & to avoid writing the same information in multiple places on the drawings.
What are the three main stages of construction?
Foundation, framing & finishing
What does Finishing encompass?
Both exterior and interior exposed surfaces & related trims. Also cabinets, shelves, closet rods, valances, window liners, door and window sills, baseboards and casings.
What may be found in Foundation finishing drawings?
How the foundation wall levelling strip is formed to allow a recess
Allowances in the foundation wall for door and garage door trims, and for inserts for the attachment of finishing mat.
The framing stage usually includes which finishing details?
Backing for finishing materials, bathroom accessories, curtain rods, handrails & other items.
What is the specification book usually for?
It gives the manufacturer and product names for most components used for the project’s construction and finishing
Will list the brand, size & profile number of the baseboard to be used along with the brand, color, product # of the paint, and # of coats.
Elevation Plan View found on plans differs from Elevation drawings how?
Elevations show an important information for example the heights of finished ceilings from the finished floor, etc.
