anxious of exploration and strangers, even when mother is present; child is extremely distressed when mother departs; mother engaged with child on her terms; child is ambivalent when mom returns, close to mother but resentful
resistant/anxious exploration
children with this attachment grow up to be very clingy; easily angered; seek a better caretaker than they had at home
resistant / anxious attachment
style will avoid or ignore mother; show little emotion when mother returns or departs; will not explore very much regardless of who is there
avoidant attachment
show a lack of attachment behavior; reactions to caregivers are a mix of attachment styles; display dazed behavior
disorganized behavior
child is completely still for 30secs-1minute in presence of parent
catatonic
kids with this attachment tend to be bullies or are the kid that other kids don’t want to play with; or can be narcissistic
avoidant attachment
securely attached 2 year ldd are more enthusiastic, persistent, cooperative, more effective in solving problems

more socially competent, stronger self-esteem, more self-confidence
social consequence of secure attachment
