Q

One weakness of Schaffer & Emmerson’s study was poor evidence at asocial stage. Why?

A
  • The babies have poor coordination and immobility which mean they did not display the expected behavior.
  • Babies were likely to have experienced anxiety

This says that:
It is difficult to assess their behaviour

Q

One strength of the Schaffer & Emmerson’s study was real world application. How?
- What validity can you relate to this?

A
  • The research might be helpful in practical applications, to be specific day care centers.
  • It is helpful especially on the day where unfamiliar carers are present because it allows the day care to prepare before the babies’ will start their first day in the center.
  • Ecological validity
