A

the wings are located on either side of the point which is the top of the three point line.

In the video above, Donovan Mitchell gets good separation coming off the screen, while Davis shows high to give him the attention that he deserves as the Utah Jazz’s primary offensive weapon. As that happens, Rudy Gobert rolls hard to the hoop and catches the ball three feet from the rim. In most cases, the possession is over at this point because the weak-side wing responsible for “tagging” Gobert (LeBron James, in this instance) has already rotated back to his man.

In high school, he had a big growth spurt, which is evident in his offensive fluidity, but it also had a significant influence on his defensive versatility. He was raised on the perimeter on both ends of the court, and Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has tasked him with guarding elite offensive wings during critical possessions this season.

5-Out Motion Offense

A

The 5-out motion offense is a fantastic primary offense for basketball teams at any level, but especially youth basketball teams. It’s a positionless offense that relies on spacing the floor and a set of rules that assists players to determine their movements and actions.

Williams frequently applies these principles within a 5-Out framework, with one guy at the top of the key, two on the wings, and two in the corners. These locations serve as stations that they interchangeably occupy, leave, and fill throughout a possession.

weak-side

A

the side of the floor where the ball is not.

One perimeter player dribbling toward another on the perimeter means, ‘I want you to cut to the basket.’ Sometimes that results in a layup, but it’s also a way to keep the offense moving against an aggressive defense. The cutter fills the weak-side corner if he doesn’t receive the pass, while the other players relocate to fill the vacated 5-Out stations.

back-cut/back door-cut

A

A back-cut is when a player cuts behind their defender towards the basket. Most back-cuts are made when the defensive player is playing aggressive defense and denying the offensive player from getting the ball.

Players cutting on the weak-side toward the hoop. He’s hitting back-cutters and shooters off of short rolls more than ever before

Q

true shooting percentage

A

In basketball, true shooting percentage is an APBRmetrics statistic that measures a player’s efficiency at shooting the ball.[1] It is intended to more accurately calculate a player’s shooting than field goal percentage, free throw percentage, and three-point field goal percentage taken individually. Two- and three-point field goals and free throws are all considered in its calculation. It is abbreviated TS%. ynes and Rubio have alleviated Booker’s playmaking burden to the point where he can focus on what he does best, and he’s scoring more efficiently than ever before, shattering ‘hollow-numbers-on-a-bad-team’ perceptions along the way. His 66.1 True Shooting Percentage is the best in the NBA among high-volume scorers, and he’s enjoying the room that Phoenix’s 5-Out spacing gives him, converting 73.6 percent of his shots at the rim.

paint

A

The “paint” is the area inside the lane lines from the baseline to the free-throw line. If your offensive player has a foot on, our inside these lines for 3 seconds or longer, he will be called for the 3-second violation. There is no restriction on the time defensive players can occupy the paint.

Q

“weak-side shot-blocking terror” what does this mean if “weak-side” is the side that does not have the ball?

A

But it’s an odd assignment for Davis. He’s a weak-side shot-blocking terror and a powerful, long 1-on-1 defender, but this is a lightning-quick guard attacking his back-pedaling feet in space. He appeared uncomfortable and Westbrook zipped by him pretty easily.

22

efficient

A

The stats: 32 points on an easy, efficient 14-of-21 shooting, with 11 of those makes at the rim because Houston is about as ill-equipped as any contender at forcing him into jumpers.

23
Q

How 2020 Rockets stat for three pointers connects to the fecundity misperception.

A

34.5 percent — The Rockets take a historic amount of 3s and, because of that revolutionary approach, they seem to drag around a reputation that they are actually pretty efficient from deep. They aren’t. Houston only made 34.5 percent of their 3s this season, seventh worst in the NBA and actually a tick worse than the Lakers, who were ninth worst.

MD - a high level of offspring does not indicate a fecund species, but rather a high mortality rate in the offspring.

24
Q

linebacker

A

Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up approximately three to five yards (4 m) behind the line of scrimmage, behind the defensive linemen. Linebackers are big, hard-hitting and they come at you fast. Linebackers are often smaller than offensive linemen, but their speed in comparison is much better, which allows them to erase any disadvantages. For example, center Jeff Saturday is 6’2” and 295 pounds.

Houston defended the Kevin Durant dynasty-era Warriors better than any other playoff opponent, using their stocky power to push the Warriors’ slender scorers off their preferred spots and presuming (correctly) that officials would allow a more physical game in the playoffs.

“They got a lot of middle linebackers on that team,” Kerr said then. “They’re sturdy. And we look like volleyball players. Long and lean.”
