Assignment 7 Flashcards
Maxillary nerve block
Desensitize all teeth of the upper arcade, paranasal sinuses and nasal cavity. Target is the pterygopalatine fossa. Ventral to the zygomatic process of the temporal bone, and dorsal to the transverse facial vessels, at the level of the caudal 1/3 of the eye
Infraorbital nerve block
Does it poorly but desensitized the teeth as far back as the third premolar. Infraorbital nerve at infraorbital foramen. If done at the point of emergence only desensitizes the skin
Mandibular nerve block
Desensitizes half the mandible and all of the teeth it contains. Target is the as it goes through the mandibular foramen
Mental nerve block
Desensitize teeth if in the canal or the skin if deposited at the point of emergence. Target is the mental foramen.
Supraorbital nerve block
Sensory block for the nasal portion of the upper lid. Target is the supraorbital nerve as it emerges from supraorbital
Auriculopalpebral nerve block
Motor block for the eyelids. Target is the Auriculopalpebral nerve on zygomatic arch. Palpable on dorsal edge just rostral to its highest point
