Which navigational information and services would be available to the pilot when using the localizer frequency?
An ILS approach provides both localizer and glide slope. DME is also present here as indicated by the D symbols with a DME distance printed in them. The underlined localizer frequency indicates no voice capability.
10 NM is in relation to the ______, not the ______ on the airport.
10 NM is in relation to the FAF, not the VOR on the airport.
When making a Precision Runway Monitoring (PRM) approach, there is a special requirement for it. What is it?
Listening on two PRM frequencies, a tower PRM frequency and a final controller PRM frequency.
Approval for PRM approaches requires the airport to have a precision runway monitoring system and a final monitor controller who can only communicate with aircraft on the final approach course.
Additionally, two tower frequencies are required to be used and the controller broadcasts over both frequencies to reduce the chance of instructions being missed. Pilot training is also required for pilots using the PRM system. IPH
What is PAPI?
precision approach path indicator (PAPI) is a visual aid that provides guidance information to help a pilot
What is ALSF-2?
What is HIRL?
High Intensity Runway Light
Runway edge lights
One of the restrictions regarding circle to land procedures for LDA RWY/GS 6 approach at Roanoke Regional is:
Circling not authorized NW of RWY 6-24
What are the procedure turn restrictions on the ILS RWY 36 approach at Oshkosh?
“Remain within 10 NM”. Since the procedure turn arrow is on the east side of the approach course, the aircraft should stay east.
What is the bulb sign?
Z” shaped lightning bolt indicates the glide slope intercept altitude and FAF.
You are cleared to the FAVBU waypoint from the north. When are you authorized to descend to 3,000 feet?
10 NM from FAVBU.
You are executing this approach with BARO-VNAV equipment. Why is there a temperature limitation for this type of approach?
The decision altitude and final approach segment height above obstacles or terrain is unsafe when temperatures are lower than charted.
