A
Type A - ascending aorta and may also include descending
Type B - affect descending aorta only

Symptoms of dissecting aorta
A
Sudden onset severe tearing pain - Pain radiates to the back - (Ascending - chest) (descending - back) Collapse Shock Hypotension Tachycardia Anaemia Sudden death Testicular pain Symptoms similar to renal colic/diverticulitis

Investigations for aortic/dissection rupture
A
Diagnosis is clinical and has to be made quickly

Treatment for type A aortic dissection
A
Emergency surgery - usually by open surgery
