Q

What causes a femoral hernia

A

Remember that any septa is an area of weakness and prone to herniation. In a femoral hernia, bowl or whatever travles through the femoral canal and out the saphenous opening

Q

What are two clinically important uses of the Saphenous Vein?

A

It is often harvested for arterial bypass. It is also used to inser drug cannulas just anterior to the medial malleolus (the procedure is called a Saphenous Cutdown)
