Stage 1- Representation - Identify illness, probable cause, timeline, physical and psychological consequences of illness, how to control or cure it.
Stage 2-Implimenting a coping behaviour, eg. Approach or Avoidance.
Stage 3-Appraisal, has it worked or not, choose another strategy?
