- Logbook
- Flight order if necessary
- Flight manual (or GAF T.O), at least one flight crew checklist

Is smoking allowed on board of a bundeswehr aircraft?
No
Can you smoke in the vicinity of an aircraft?
If the movement area is clearly marked other wise at least 25m around an aircraft
Is electric and electronic devices that are not part of the aircraft’s equipment allowed on board the aircraft?
They may be operated on board in compliance with the regulation for “General provisions for flight operations with manned aircraft. Any exception is in the aircrafts FLM
Are passengers allowed to carry firearms, cut and thrust weapons, ammunition or dangerous goods?
No
Above which pressure altitude is oxygen needed? Can you fly without it?
Above a pressure altitude of 10000ft oxygen is required. Only for mission related reasons operations without oxygen can be allowed between 10000ft and 12000ft for three hours
Where is the minimum aircrew stated?
In the relevant flight manuals or comparable operational document
Who have to comply with the instructions given by the pilot in command?
As a matter of principle, the crew and passengers.
Who has the ultimate authority and when?
The pilot in command during:
- Taxi / air-taxi
- Take-off
- Enroute
- Landing
What do you need to be allowed to be employed as a pilot or permanent crew member?
A permit
For how long can you not fly before you need to demonstrate your ability to carry out this activity under supervision?
If your last flight was more than three months ago
What is the minimum crew required to have?
The relevant type rating
Can you participate in flight services if you are under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances?

- 24 hours with normal vaccines
- Six days for yellow fewer
- 72 hours if it is a live vaccines (Such as MMR)
Can you donate blood as flying personel?
Only in exceptional cases and then no flight duty for 36 hours after
When can you start flight duty after a decompression chamber?
- 12 hours if under 33000ft pressure altitude
- 24 hours above 33000ft
You have been diving with breathing equipment. When can you attend flight duty again?

What is the minimum height?
- 500ft above the highest obstacle for helicopters within a radius of 150m
- 1000ft above the highest obstacle for helicopters within a radius of 600m above cities with a population of 100.000
When are you allowed to fly below 500ft GND without a separate flight order?
Only for weather-specific reasons and then if passengers are transported only down to 100ft GND
What is the minimum height above industrial facilities?
2000ft AGL
What is the minimum distances during parking, taxiing and hovering?
- Not less than 1 main rotor diameter too helicopters, aircrafts and obstacles
- 1.5 main rotor diameter too light aircrafts
- 50 m to radomes
- At military field landing sites, heliports, barracks, military facilities or withing open terrain a safe distance
What do you require if you wanna fly with a flight visibility below 1.5 km and not less than 800 meters?

Can you take off again after an emergency landing?
Only with the following conditions:
- Aircraft has received a maintenance clearance by the relevant testing staff
- The approval by the one who issued the flight order
After an off-field landing, in which cases do you not need approval for take-off and clearance by maintenance staff?
If it was a safety landing due to deteriorating weather, lack of fuel or if the problem could be fixed in a legal manner with onboard equipment
If a safety landing shows flight safety related problems, what is the landing then classified as?
A emergency landing and take-off needs approval from maintenance and the one who issued the flight order
If time and circumstances permit, what should be done prior to an emergency landing?
- Set IFF/SIF system to emergency
- Declare emergency
- Transmit the following to the appropriate ATC unit:
- Distance from aerodrome/position
- Altitude / Flight level
- Airspeed / Rate of descend
- Intention
- Visual contact with the aerodrome
- Direction of landing
What is an engine failure or loss of at least 50 % of the engines declared as?
An emergency
What do you declare if landing at an airport is the only possibility and flying to any other would go below the minimum amount of reserve fuel? Is this an emergency?
You declare “Minimum fuel” and it is not an emergency but only if another delay happens an emergency is to be expected
What do you declare if you have less than your reserve fuel when landing at the nearest suitable airfield where a safe landing is possible?

What do you have to do if a collision with another aircraft, bird strike or a collision with an obstacle occurs mid-air?
Declare emergency and land at the nearest appropriate aerodrome
When is flight time started and ended?
From lift-off until touchdown on ground in order to land. Short term touchdowns with running rotors do not constitute an interruption of flight time.
What is a flight duty period composed of?
- The time for the preparation of a mission
- The flight time
- The time spent in flight simulators as directed by an authority issuing flight orders including preparation for the simulator flight
- The time for official activities preceeding a flight without a rest period (Transport time for example)
- The time for preparation and follow-up work after a flight
Post-flight activities like gym training does not count as flight duty period
What is night duty?
At least 2 hours of work between 8 pm and 6am
What are the rules regarding parachute operations?
- The military unit is responsible for announcing the operations example by a NOTAM
- The pilot in command has to check that the NOTAM has been published and all off-field landing permits required are obtained
- Helicopter crew has to attend the pre-mission briefing for parachute operations and coordinate with the requesting agency
- Radio comm between drop zone and helicopter crew must be established
- Drop between pressure altitude of 10000ft and 12000ft needs approval
- Max altitude is 12000ft for paraglide operations without oxygen
What is the minimum distance between helicopter?
- 3 rotor disc diameters
- During take-off, landing approaches and landings this may be reduced to 1.5 rotor disc diameters
What are the rules regarding transport of VIP and the number of VIP categories?
- There is 6 VIP categories (VIP 1-6)
- VIP 1 and 2 shall only by transported in separate aircrafts unless a request for joint transportation is expressed
- VIP 3 may only be transported up to 4 in the same aircraft and only 1 of VIP 1 and 2 can join.
- There are no rules for transportation of VIP categories 4-6
What are the rules if you wanna fly above clouds?
- The height above ground or water is at least 1000ft GND
- FVis and distance too clouds according to airspace class E
- Departure, approach and landing can be done with VFR unless IFR change in flight is intended
- The planned flight plan can be maintained by onboard navigational equipment or by guidance from the ground
What are the rules for low level flight below 500ft GND?
- At daytime in military low-flying areas down to 100ft GND
- At daytime in helicopter flight coordination areas (HFCA) below 100ft GND
What are the rules regarding the height of a HFCA?
- Day low level flight below 100ft GND
- Night low level flight below 500ft GND
- HFCA Alpen Flights at 1000ft GND as a matter of principle
What is the minimum flight height in a HFCA?
10 ft GND at daytime withing the HFCA Bückeburg
What is the rules to distance to drilling and research platform as well af offshore wind turbines?
A minimum horizontal distance of 3 km and 2000ft MSL above them at least
Above inhabited islands what is the minimum height for helicopters?
500ft GND
What is the rules to distance to surface vessels?
A minimum horizontal distance of 1 NM and a vertical distance of 1000ft above
What are the rules regarding right of way and anti-collision lights?
Both aircraft anti-collision lights ON/OFF:
- General rules apply
One aircraft anti-collision lights ON
- Aircraft with anti-collision lights OFF gives right of way
