Adrenaline Flashcards
2.
Adrenaline binds to membrane receptor and changes it’s shape, causing it to interact with G-protein in membrane.
3.
G-protein splits and part or it activates an adenyl cyclase which converts ATP into cyclic AMP (cAMP).
4.
cAMP is the 2nd messenger as it works inside target cells. It stimulates an enzyme cascade of reactions.
5.
Adrenaline can have many different effects as it can bind to different target tissue. This stimulates different 2nd messengers and different enzyme cascades.
6.
Adrenaline can have large effects in the cell and it stimulates many over steps in a multi-step reaction. Each stage leads to other stages.
1
Adrenaline produced in adrenal glands in times of stress. 1st messenger as it binds to specific receptor on CSM of it’s target tissue.
