Diffusion - No clear commitment to an identity
Foreclosure - A premature commitment to an identity with little exploration
Moratorium - Actively seeking an identity
Achievement - A committed sense of self
Familial identity
Some form identity early by adopting their parents’ values and expectations
Possible selves
Versions of the person you imagine becoming can influence your identity
Social identity
Part oof our identity that comes from our group memberships
Intimacy
To Erikson, the main goal after forming an identity and the primary task of early adulthood
Emerging adulthood
Time from 18 to mid-twenties when you have not yet assumed full adult responsibilities and independence
Social clock
The culturally preferred timing of social events such as marriage, parenthood, and retirement
