Drinking at a level that is leading to current evidence of physical, social or psychological harm (40/50+ units/week)
What is the definition of alcohol dependence
Individual has 3 or more range of symptoms that include:
Tolerance
Alcohol withdrawal
Craving
Relief
Persistent drinking despite negative consequences
What is the definition of binge drinking
Less than 8 units in a single session for men
Less than 6 units for women
What is the current U.K. guidelines for the drinking alcohol
Male and female should not exceed 14 units per week that is spread over 3 or more days
